AirAsia Thailand, registered as Thai AirAsia Co. Ltd., is Thailand’s first and largest low-cost carrier and a strong affiliate of AirAsia Group. The airline began service in 2004, and at present operates short haul flights from its 6 bases of operation in Thailand including Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Phuket, Krabi and U-tapao (Pattaya), flying to over 20 domestic Thailand and 40 international destinations. Thai AirAsia manages a fleet of 60 Airbus A320-200 and A320neo aircraft with a configuration of 180 seats and 186 seats respectively.

AirAsia has marked another foray into South Asia by offering direct services between Colombo in Sri Lanka and Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok. This 4-time weekly flight service is slated to commence operation on 14th December 2018.
